Joint Committee Commends Progress in Establishing DU College of Medicine

During its meeting in Salalah, the SQU–DU Joint Committee also reviewed developments related to the ongoing establishment of the Dhofar University College of Medicine.

Committee members expressed their appreciation for the substantial progress achieved within a relatively short period, noting the growing thrust across the College’s academic, organizational, and developmental activities.

The Committee commended the collective efforts being made to establish the College on strong academic and institutional foundations and emphasized the importance of maintaining this momentum as preparations continue.

In addition, the Joint Committee also attended the College Assembly meeting (on 9 September), providing an opportunity to share in the College’s regular academic, knowledge-sharing and organizational activities. The participation enabled Committee members to engage directly with faculty and gain further insight into the College’s ongoing development and academic environment.

The progress reflects the commitment of Dhofar University, together with the support and collaboration of Sultan Qaboos University, to developing a high-quality medical education program that responds to contemporary expectations in medical education and contributes to the advancement of healthcare education in Oman.
