Research Spotlight: Cancer Epidemiology in Oman 

The College of Medicine at Dhofar University is proud to announce that a student-led research group has participated in the 12th DU research day and has been honored with the Best Poster Award for their study titled: Cancer Epidemiology in the Sultanate of Oman, A Comprehensive Review of Breast, Thyroid, Pancreatic, Prostate, and Colorectal Cancers.

Conducted under academic supervision, the work was distinguished for its scientific rigor, clinical relevance, and quality of presentation. The study addresses cancer types of significant epidemiological importance in Oman, contributing to the national evidence base for oncology and public health planning. Its recognition in a competitive academic setting reflects the students’ commitment to scholarship that extends beyond the curriculum and engages with real healthcare challenges.
