
Visit to Arabian Gulf University – Bahrain
The visit started by conferring with the University President and Dean of College of Medicine and Health Sciences and flowed by a tour to College of Medicine facilities and was concluded with discussing future collaboration areas.
The proposed collaboration aims to advance excellence in medical education, research, and healthcare innovation through a broad range of joint initiatives. Key areas include collaborative medical education research, particularly focusing on the development, implementation, and evaluation of the College of Medicine utilizing Team-Based Learning (TBL) as its primary educational approach. This includes longitudinal and outcomes-based studies involving an inaugural cohort of medical students and future expanded cohorts.
The partnership will also support innovation in curriculum development, educational quality assurance, and continuous improvement in medical training. Faculty development programs that jointly designed and delivered through flexible educational modalities, leading to professional certification in areas such as teaching, assessment, curriculum development, and educational leadership.
Additional initiatives include reciprocal faculty exchange and visiting scholar programs, the development and quality enhancement of the Clinical Simulation and Skills Center, and collaborative activities in artificial intelligence applications in healthcare and medical education. The collaboration will further promote joint participation in both college activities such as international conference as well as research partnerships in molecular diagnostics and genetics, including translational research, capacity building, technology transfer, grant applications, and scientific publications.
